Welcome from our Headteacher

I would like to warmly welcome you to our school, Mulberry Canon Barnett Primary. We are a happy, successful and deeply caring school, committed to helping every child achieve their true potential and shine like the stars they are from Nursery all the way through to Year 6. Our motto is ‘Excellence Everywhere’ and this drives every decision we make and everything we say and do. I am very proud to lead such a wonderful school community, and it is an honour to serve our children, families and community. 

At Mulberry Canon Barnett Primary, we provide a warm, inclusive and nurturing environment where every child can thrive and feel respected, valued, and supported in their learning. We celebrate diversity and are passionate about fostering a love of learning built on positive, lasting relationships. We believe that every child is unique and capable of achieving their best; our dedicated staff are committed to delivering the highest quality inclusive education and we continuously invest in professional development to ensure we stay at the forefront of the best teaching practices. Our children achieve well throughout the school-academically, socially and personally. Our goal is not only to nurture successful well-rounded pupils but also to help our children grow into confident, compassionate individuals who will make a positive impact on the world around them. 

Our children are encouraged to challenge themselves without fear of failure, to try new things and be resilient and to be ambitious in everything they do. Our children follow our school expectations- I am Respectful... I am Responsible... I am Ready for Learning -with pride. We recognise our children’s successes and support their needs so that they can each flourish, enjoy their learning and fully engage in school life every day. Children are immersed in storytelling and story language from the moment they start with us in Nursery with daily Storytime a sacred part of our daily timetable across all classes in the school-we love books, we love reading and we love the beauty of imagination and words. 

As part of Mulberry Schools Trust, our children benefit from incredible opportunities, wonderful experiences and a strong community that champions success for all; our Mulberry Schools Trust Changemaker Programme offers our children the most wonderful opportunities in the arts, STEM, music and leadership. This year we are delighted to open our brand-new Arts Suite that features a state-of-the-art Drama Studio, Art Studio and Music Studio. Together our vision is to be a key provider for quality education so that all of our children leave us as successful, confident and articulate young people.
