Assemblies are a special and important part of our school life. They bring our whole community together, create a sense of belonging, and give us time to reflect, celebrate, and learn as one. Each day of the week offers something different, helping children grow not just academically, but socially and emotionally too. Assemblies are where we share values, build confidence, and enjoy the simple joy of being together.
Every Monday, we start the week with Magical Mondays—a calm and thoughtful assembly where we focus on big ideas like kindness, perseverance, and making good choices. We also learn about important events in the school calendar such as Friendship Week, Science Week, Anti-Bullying Week, and other key national or cultural celebrations.
Tuesdays are dedicated to our Oracy Assemblies, where we help children develop their speaking and listening skills. Through storytelling, poetry recitals, class presentations, and role play, pupils learn to express themselves clearly and respectfully.
On Wednesdays and Thursdays, our new Singing Assemblies have quickly become a weekly highlight—it’s a joy to hear the children sing together, building musicality, teamwork, and confidence through shared songs. We are delighted to have formed our new KS1 Choir and School Choir and look forward to watching these grow and develop over the coming months. With such enthusiasm and talent already shining through, we know it will become something truly special—and we can’t wait to hear the amazing performances that lie ahead!
We end each week with our Fantastic Friday assemblies—full of celebration! We share some of the week's highlights and recognise individual and class achievements. It’s a moment of pride, reflection, and celebration that every child looks forward to.
This year, we’re really looking forward to some very special assemblies led by our children.
Our School Council will be taking a more active role, leading assemblies to share ideas, promote pupil voice, and encourage positive change across our school. Each class will also have the opportunity to lead their own assembly, giving children the chance to showcase their learning, build confidence in public speaking, and celebrate their achievements with the wider school community.
We’re also excited to introduce our new Achievement Assemblies, where children will be recognised for their efforts and progress across a range of subjects, including reading, writing, maths, the arts, and more. These moments of celebration help to highlight the many ways children shine and contribute to our vibrant school life.
